D’Appolito UniQ arrangement▲
This D’Appolito arrangement positions the UniQ driver in between the two bass drive units, which helps to improve the symmetry of the vertical response from the speaker.
The R-500 utilises a brand new hybrid magnesium and aluminium drive unit for the mid of the UniQ, and a vented, stiffened aluminium dome tweeter. It also uses miniaturised version of the Z-flex rubber surround which helps to keep the mid driver very stiff. This, along with the tangerine waveguide, improves the uniformity of and helps to smooth out the high end response. It uses a combination of neodymium and ferrite magnets and is mounted within a die-cast aluminium chassis.
