Toroidal Transformers
Usually found in higher-end equipment, these transformers are designed around a ring-shaped core, improving efficiency by reducing
magnetic resistance. Effectively, a toroidal transformer helps to reduce the
transference of unwanted noise to the audio circuitry
by retaining the interference in the transformer core. Coils are wound around the surface of the core which minimises the length of
wire needed whilst at the same time screening the core’s magnetic field to reduce electromagnetic interference. These transformers can
also be more efficient than their cheaper counterparts. They produce less mechanical hum and a lower exterior magnetic field,
and have low off-load losses so they are efficient even in standby.

iPod Digital
iPod Digital allows you to connect in most modern iPods via USB and playback audio from your iPod, using the interface of the receiver
to browse playlists and tracks. You can also normally view album artwork GUI during playback when connected to a unit with a video output,
like an A/V receiver. However, you can often navigate using the front panel display, removing the need to turn on your television to enjoy
music from your iPod.
