Besides running as an integrated amp, the A-9070 has three other modes which allow you to use it exactly how you want to. Want a power-amp or a pre-amp? Within seconds it can be either. Or you can run it in split mode, allowing the pre- and power-amp to work separately. The A-9070 is as versatile as you want it to be.

Three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry▲
A negative feedback design circuit counters distortion by cancelling it out with an opposing phase of the output signal into the input stage. An inherent problem with this design is it is susceptible to interference from the speakers, causing more circuit noise. This Onkyo-designed circuit seeks to improve on this design with three transistors the signal must pass through. The negative feedback required is therefore less, and so there is less circuit noise.
