ROKSAN XERXES X (10) TURNTABLE The Top Plinth features the familiar cut out seen on the TMS
turntable and prevents any unwanted vibration from reaching the record /
cartridge interface.The Sub Plinth carries the main bearing/platter assembly and
tone arm. It decouples the top plinth and the arm board and isolates
them from external disturbances.The Arm board provides a further level of isolation, and is
machined from a billet of acetyl with complimentary damping between the
tone arm and the sub-plinth. The detachable arm board is fixed by three
bolts for easy tone arm mounting and adjustment.The Electronics: A crystal locked power supply will
significantly enhance the performance of the turntable. Xerxes 10 can be
specified with either a DSU or a DS1.5 DC power supply in the Caspian
DX2 chassis. The speed control board is the XPS5 which is used on the
TMS.The Main Bearing is made from Phosphor bronze machined to an
accuracy of 5 microns. The bearing housing is made from two pieces and
is unique in its self aligning and self centring properties. This is a
true single point bearing.The Spindle is made from hardened tool steel and is ground
with a taper that locates into the inner platter without the use of
adhesive or the need for pressing.The Inner and Outer Platters are two piece designs machined
from top quality billet aluminium to a tolerance of 10 microns. Their
natural resonances are controlled to attenuate any unwanted vibrations
and direct that vibration away from the record and not towards it. |
